Loqui Taqueria, Los Angeles

Loqui Taqueria in downtown Los Angeles is wrapped in ARTO's handcrafted Artillo 4x16 concrete tile in Cafe Olay with a Limestone texture. Inside, the long tiles line the dining room walls, banquette and planter niche, and clad the front of the service counter beneath a white tile backsplash. Outdoors, the same tile wraps the base of a communal table topped with tall cactus, along with low planters and the street-front beds. Laid in long running courses, with some sections turned vertical, the tile reads like an old adobe brick wall. Its warm terracotta tone is washed with chalky cream and soft rust, and the pitted Limestone face gives every surface a sun-worn, rustic depth.
